Newborn Photoshoot
Tap the button to expand info

A “set” refers to a combination of outfit, backdrop, and props. For example, in a maternity session, the number of sets determines how many outfits you can choose. By adjusting poses, lighting, props, and incorporating elements like chairs or sofas, we create multiple variations within each set.
Each time you switch to a new set, we also change the backdrop and props. This approach is similar in newborn and baby photoshoots, allowing for diverse looks and styles.
When choosing sets or outfits, simply browse our galleries or Instagram/Facebook, screenshot the ones you like, and send them to us, or we can discuss your choices on the day before the shoot. Alternatively, you can leave all or some sets to us, and we’ll surprise you with our creations! For the cake smash session, however, we need to confirm the sets in advance, as this type of sets typically requires more preparation time.
If there’re some sets or outfits from other studios which you would like to have, feel free to send the photo to us, we will try to source them for you. Please notice, for the new sets, we may need at least 4 weeks to order and prepare before the shooting day.

Booking & Rescheduling
To secure your preferred session time, we recommend booking at least 2 months in advance. Newborn photography is time-sensitive, and slots fill up quickly — so please don’t wait until your baby is born to start looking, as you may miss the ideal window for your shoot.

We understand that plans can change, which is why we offer a free rescheduling policy for added flexibility (T&Cs apply).
If you’re unable to find a suitable slot on our booking page, please join our waitlist — we’ll get back to you as soon as possible with available options.

Maternity Photography: 29 – 34 weeks
During this stage, the mother’s belly is beautifully shaped, allowing for graceful and artistic posing with ease.

Newborn Photography: 5 – 15 days
During this early stage, babies tend to sleep deeply and are more flexible, allowing us to gently pose them in a variety of adorable positions.

As babies approach 4 weeks, they become more alert and sensitive to touch, making them easier to wake and more prone to fussiness. At this age, posing options are more limited —typically focusing on wrapped poses and natural, candid lifestyle portraits rather than the more intricate posed setups possible in the earlier days. While we can photograph babies at any age, this early window offers the best opportunity for beautifully posed newborn portraits.

Baby Photography: 6 -10 months
Before 6 months, babies typically have limited strength and coordination, which can restrict posing options. Many are not yet able to push up or hold a “tummy time” pose firmly, so sessions at this age often focus on lying-down poses that highlight their delicate features and expressions.

After 10 months, babies typically start crawling or even taking early steps. While this stage is full of personality, it can also be more challenging — little ones may lose patience quickly and prefer exploring over staying in place for photos. We welcome babies at any stage of development and always work creatively to capture beautiful images.

For milestone sessions — such as a 100-day photoshoot — we recommend booking a 30-minute or 1-hour session, as this timeframe allows your baby to stay engaged and comfortable throughout the shoot.

Original Photos
All our packages include high-resolution, unwatermarked JPG files in full size. These capture the real world, including imperfections like backdrop gaps, softbox edges, frizzy hairs, blemishes, and double chins… While we strive for the best results, factors like composition, backdrop size, and lighting can prevent a “perfect” shot. That’s why we offer retouching services to enhance details and backgrounds. All portfolio photos you see in our galleries are retouched.

Photo Edit
Photo edit is a part of the photo retouching. It includes:

  • Exposure adjustments
  • White balance corrections & color tuning
  • Cropping and leveling for better composition

Photo Retouching
Fine photo retouching includes all the “photo edit” steps plus much more detailed enhancements, It brings the photos to the next level.

  • Background Cleanup: Removal of unwanted objects, detailed backdrop fixes and extension
  • Skin Retouching: Blemish removal, wrinkle reduction, eye bags removal or lighten, evening out and correcting skin tone…
  • Frizzy Hair Cleanup: Hair smoothing, filling, shape adjusting and smoothing.
  • Body Shaping: Jawline refinement, double chin removal, waist & limb adjustments upon request
  • Teeth Whitening & Subtle Facial Enhancements
  • Special Effects: Composite photos using digital backdrops ( It’s required to be pre-arranged before the shoot);  adding candle glow & halos; adding sunsets to the sky, special lighting effects…
  • You can reschedule the booking (at least 24 hours before the photoshoot) by clicking the “Reschedule” button below. It is free of charge.
  • If it’s a change within 24 hours to the booked slot or it turns out a no-show, unfortunately, you will not be able to reschedule the photoshoot online, the $100 retainer will be taken as compensation. You may need to make a new booking with a new retainer placed.
  • We adjust the pricing annually, if the photoshoot is rescheduled by you or via your request, we will follow the current pricing when the rebooking action takes place.

  • We provide a range of outfits, hairpieces, and props.
  • Most available outfits are shown in our Maternity Gallery, with some new arrivals available on-site.

  • We have spare bandeau tops at the studio if needed.
Hair & Makeup
  • We do not provide hair or makeup services.
  • Please ensure nails are trimmed or polished — we can’t change nail colors in post-production.
 Grooming & Comfort
  • To help you feel more relaxed and confident, consider bringing:
    • Adhesive bras
    • Nipple covers
Footwear
    • Most clients (mum, dad, kids) go barefoot for a natural look.
Photographer & Privacy
  • Our photographer is male. If you have any concerns about this, please let us know — we have options to ensure your comfort.
  • A female assistant will be present throughout your session to help with outfit changes and posing.
  • A private changing room with a sliding door is available for your comfort.

Partner & Children – What to Prepare
Partner Participation
  • Your partner is welcome to join the photoshoot!
  • Please prepare at least one dark-colored and one light-colored outfit.
  • Ideally, outfits should be logo-free and simple — less is more, and simplicity always photographs beautifully.
Kids’ Outfits
  • We provide outfits for children under 2 years old at the studio.
Meaningful Items to Bring
We want this session to be special and personal for you. If you have any meaningful items, we’d love to include them in your photo story. Here are some ideas to inspire you:
  • 💍 Wedding rings
  • 👶 Items prepared for your unborn baby (e.g., tiny shoes, ultrasound photo, baby clothes)
  • 🧸 Special family heirlooms or keepsakes for the baby or family
Essential Items to Bring
To ensure a smooth and comfortable session, please bring the following:
  • 🍼 Extra Milk – If breastfeeding, it’s best to bring some bottled milk for convenience during the shoot.

  • 🧷 Extra Nappies – Babies may need changing between each setup, so please bring plenty.

  • 💤 Dummy / Pacifier – This is very important! Even if your baby doesn’t usually use one, it helps greatly during pose transitions.
(We also have a variety of dummies available as backups.)
  • 👕 Extra Clothes – For both baby and family members, in case of spills or changes.

Note: Try to avoid letting your baby sleep too much before the photoshoot. Based on our experience, keeping your baby awake for as long as possible beforehand helps them fall into a deep sleep during the session — ideal for newborn photography.
This method applies to babies from newborn to one month old.

Preparation for Parents & Siblings
  • Outfit Coordination
Choose outfits in similar or complementary colors. They don’t need to match exactly, but should harmonize well.
Avoid logos — simplicity creates timeless photos.
  • Children’s Clothing
  • Grooming Tips
    • Mum: Please do hair and makeup before arriving.
    • Everyone: Please trim, polish, or clean nails so they look neat in close-up shots.
  • Footwear
Most families go barefoot for a natural, cohesive look.
If you have special shoes you’d like to include, feel free to bring them.

Preparation for the Baby
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable session, please bring:

  • Extra milk or baby snacks/drinks
  • Extra nappies
  • Changing clothes
  • Dummy/Pacifier
  • Baby’s favorite toys, pitcture or video & audio – great for making them laugh!

Important:
Please ensure your baby is well-rested before the session. A tired baby is harder to settle and engage. Try adjusting their routine so they have a long nap before the shoot.
If your baby is asleep upon arrival, do not wake them — one parent can stay with the baby while the other discusses sets and outfits with us. Letting your baby wake naturally helps start the session on a happy and fresh note.

Family Photos Preparation
If your session includes family photos:

  • Choose outfits in similar or complementary colors. They don’t need to match exactly, but should harmonize well.
  • Choose plain, logo-free clothing — simplicity creates timeless images
  • Mum: Please do hair and makeup before arriving
  • Siblings:   We recommend preparing their own outfits for better fit and coordination.
  • Most families go barefoot in our photos for a natural and cohesive look.
  • If you have special shoes you’d like to include, feel free to bring them.

– Tips from us

  • Prepare extra milk/food, nappies, and a change of clothes for your baby.
  • Place all baby accessories on one table before the day for easy access.
  • Ensure the room is tidy with a bed for portraits. A white or light-coloured bed cover and pillows work best for a clean background.
  • If the baby responds well to the photographer, let them lead. If needed, one helper can assist with toys or expressions close to the lens.
  • During family photos, focus on the camera and smile — let the photographer get the baby’s attention.
  • Schedule 10–20 minutes for family photos at the reception before guests arrive to reduce distractions.
  • Prepare a group photo list and assign someone reliable to help organise. We’ll also prepare a list and confirm with you.
  • If possible, arrange a big group photo right after the ceremony. A helper is needed to gather everyone.
  • At the reception, we’ll do table shots by default to collect the smiles and happinese from your guests — let us know if you’d prefer to skip this.

If the baby is reacting well to the photographer, we suggest leaving it to him and keep everyone else quiet or hidden. If the photographer needs help, we can have one person who is good at making the baby laugh stand with the photographer, getting the face or baby rattles very close to the lens, then do the tricks.

Posing Tips
1. Practice holding the baby in a flattering way — especially if wearing a long gown.

2. When kissing the baby, please don’t look at the camera, simply close your eyes and smile & enjoy the moment!

Please rest assured that our photographer will confirm with you by phone before the day, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The rest of the payment is due on the day by cash which you can handle over to the photographer in person.
Looking forward to the big day!

We would like our clients to fully enjoy and maximize what they can get from the photoshoot, thus, all the packages include high-resolution photos (digital), both the original and retouched versions, here are the details:

– The high-resolution files we provide are perfect for prints. They are in JPEG format, in 300 dpi resolution. They can be used to produce all sorts of prints from photo paper prints to large wall art prints.

– We always shoot in Raw format to collect all the information of the photos, then process them in Adobe Lightroom to adjust exposure, highlight area, color, etc. The original photos will then be exported into JPEG format will full-size output which means the potential of the RAW files is mostly drawn out.

– What is the RAW file? Bascially, the raw file is not a photo, it’s a file keeps all the data collected by the camera, in other words, it includes large amount of details for the photo adjustment, especially for the overexposed or underexposed photos. The size of the raw file is huge, it can be up to 4 times the size of the jpg photo. To view it, you need to use the softwares such as Adobe photoshop, lightroom or bridge.

If you want to have the Raw files, please let us know before the shoot. we will arrange to transfer all the raw files on a USB (Provided by us) and pass them to you right after the photoshoot.
There is a $100 process fee for this service (USB included, pick up from the studio or delivered at $10 postage).

when you request to retreive the photos, we will search them in the hard drives, upload to the cloud and generate a new link for you to download.

FAQ – Newborn Photoshoot at Blossom Brook Studio
A Newborn Photoshoot is one of the most meaningful investments you can make as a parent. Those first days of your baby’s life pass quickly, but with a beautifully planned Newborn Photoshoot, you can preserve those precious details forever.
At Blossom Brook Studio, we specialise in professional Newborn Photoshoot sessions designed to capture love, innocence, and connection in every image. Below, we’ve answered the most common questions parents ask when preparing for their Newborn Photoshoot.
When is the best time for a Newborn Photoshoot?
The best time for a Newborn Photoshoot is within the first 5–15 days after birth. During this stage, babies are naturally sleepier, easier to pose, and more likely to curl into those adorable positions parents love. While an early Newborn Photoshoot is ideal, we also create stunning images for babies who are a little older.
Even if your baby is 3–4 weeks or beyond, a Newborn Photoshoot can still capture natural expressions, eye contact, and sweet family interactions.
How long does a Newborn Photoshoot take?
A Newborn Photoshoot usually takes between two and three hours. This time includes feeding breaks, cuddles, soothing, and outfit changes. Every baby is unique, so we allow flexibility. Parents never need to feel rushed, because a relaxed Newborn Photoshoot always leads to the most natural results.
What should we bring to the Newborn Photoshoot?
For your Newborn Photoshoot, we suggest bringing nappies, wipes, feeding supplies, a pacifier, and a couple of special outfits. Many families love to include blankets, toys, or heirlooms, which make their Newborn Photoshoot more personal.
Blossom Brook Studio also provides professional wraps, outfits, and props so your Newborn Photoshoot can be customised to your style.
Can parents and siblings join the Newborn Photoshoot?
Yes, parents and siblings are always welcome to be part of the Newborn Photoshoot.
Some of the most cherished images come from capturing family connections, such as an older sibling gently kissing the baby or parents holding their newborn together. Including loved ones turns a Newborn Photoshoot into a family experience you will treasure forever.
What if my baby cries during the Newborn Photoshoot?
It’s normal for babies to cry, and our photographers are experienced in handling these situations.
During a Newborn Photoshoot, we take breaks whenever needed for feeding, cuddling, or soothing. Sometimes, even these moments lead to emotional photographs that reflect real love and comfort. A Newborn Photoshoot is always flexible and baby-led, ensuring the experience is enjoyable for everyone.
How do you ensure safety during the Newborn Photoshoot?
Safety is the top priority at every Newborn Photoshoot. Babies are never forced into uncomfortable positions. All props and outfits used during the Newborn Photoshoot are carefully cleaned and sanitised, and the studio is kept warm so babies remain cosy.
Parents can feel confident that their baby’s Newborn Photoshoot is safe, professional, and handled with expert care.
How soon will we receive our photos?
After your Newborn Photoshoot, each image is carefully reviewed and edited. Most families receive their gallery within 4 days. Every Newborn Photoshoot package includes fully retouched, high-resolution images ready for printing, framing, and sharing with loved ones.
Why is a Newborn Photoshoot so important?
A Newborn Photoshoot is more than just pictures—it’s the story of your baby’s earliest days. The soft features, tiny fingers, sleepy yawns, and little smiles captured during a Newborn Photoshoot become family treasures. These photographs allow you to relive moments that pass in the blink of an eye.
Years from now, your Newborn Photoshoot images will remain a timeless reminder of how small and precious your child once was.
How much does a Newborn Photoshoot cost?
The cost of a Newborn Photoshoot depends on the package you choose. Some parents prefer a simple, intimate session, while others want a full Newborn Photoshoot with multiple setups, props, and family portraits. Blossom Brook Studio offers packages to suit a variety of budgets, all delivering exceptional quality.
